Experience at Concordia University

Montreal is a very welcoming musical community, but Concordia's Department of Fine Arts stands out amongst all music programs in

the city, for creativity and finding one's own voice as a musician. A person is encouraged to be at the forefront of everything they learn.

I feel particularly blessed to have had these unique social and musical opportunities that I strongly believe would not have been possible

anywhere else.  I have met some fantastic musicians at Concordia and in addition to their talent, they are inspiring, amazing personalities...

some of the greatest friends I have ever met.

Through school I have had the chance to play in some unusual group configurations such as an ensemble with five guitarists. Another

being one with two guitars, bass, violin, clarinet, saxophone and two drummers and a smaller baseless trio with myself and friends

Dahli on tenor sax and Tristan on drums.  These ensembles have fostered a desire in me to create one of my own, such as a quintet

with vocals, saxophone, guitar, bass and drums with some of my favourite musicians from Montreal.  I am also excited about a recent

project working on a number of detailed musical ideas involving playing and recording duo with my friend Averil on Alto sax.

Studying at Concordia has been a very positive, musically expansive period of my life and I look forward to seeing what surprises

the remainder of my final year has to hold.
